The configuration defining the work of the modules depends on the solution of a specific module and is described together with the description of the module. In particular, some modules do not require configuration. In most modules, the rule is that the configuration is kept in an XML file whose name is related to the name of the module, but there are exceptions to this rule. The list of configuration files is included in the table in the List of SWIP5 plugins chapter.

Some modules have functionalities that enable defining their parameters. In the others, you can change the configuration by editing the configuration files of the module. It should be remembered that in case of errors in some configuration files, the existing parameters may be ignored and replaced with default values.

In the absence of a configuration file, some modules create configuration files that can be modified later. For modules whose parameters are important in the absence of configuration, files with the extension tmp are created, which must be modified and changed the file extension to xml in order to run the module.

The configuration is generally read when the module is started, but there are some modules whose configuration is read when the program starts. In this case, after changing the configuration, the program must be restarted.

Each region has its own module configuration files. They are stored in the 'Config' directory, subdirectory 'Region......', where ...... is the name of the region. In the sample data (see https://git.plgrid.pl/projects/SWIP/repos/swip5_example/browse/Config) the region "Song Tranh 2" is defined, containing configurations of many modules.
