To set up an ArcLink connection, select SetupImage AddedArcLink from the menu. A connection configuration window will appear (Fig. 4). You can also edit the ArcLink.xml file with more options than you can set in the configuration window. This file also contains the module's temporary settings, such as the last timezone. Incorrect editing of this file may result in the loss of previous settings.

Image AddedWhen configuring the Arclink module, the dialog window sets the server address, communication port (default 18001), maximum waiting time for data, user name (default e-mail account) and name of the institution. In the current version, the password and the DCID key file are not set, because the current module does not support coded transmission. The next stage of configuration is to download information about the data on the server. It is performed with the menu command  FileImage AddedArcLinkImage AddedSynchronize inventory. As a result, Inventory.xml and ArclinkStaTimes.xml files are created. Then, download the parameters of the stations placed there in the form of SEED dataless files from the ArcLink server. Dataless files are stored in the Config directory. Each station is described in a separate file. They are common to all regions. It is done with FileImage AddedArcLinkImage AddedLoad dataless files command. The above two setup and parameter reading steps must be performed the first time SWIP5 is configured and each time the ArcLink server configuration is changed, which most often occurs when a seismic station is changed or added.

Default stations for a region are defined in the data download window (see Selection of default stations and channels)
