Moduły lokalizujące zjawisko tworzą obiekty lokalizacji Modules locating the earthquake hipocenter create localization objects (QuakeML Origin) , które dołączają do zjawiska that attach to the event (QuakeML Event). Może być wiele lokalizacji dla danego zjawiska różniących się metodą lokalizacji, modelem prędkościowym, użytymi fazami sejsmicznymi. QukeML ma możliwość wskazania jednej preferowanej lokalizacji. Część modułów posiada możliwość ustawienia opcji preferowanej lokalizacji. W zbiorze konfiguracyjnym jest to najczęściej pozycjaThere may be many locations for a given event, differing in location method, velocity model, seismic phases used. QukeML has the ability to indicate one preferred location. Some modules have the ability to set the preferred location option. In the configuration set, this is usually the position::

Modyły mogą też mieć możliwość ustawienia tej opcji w oknie graficznym modułu. Jeżeli jej nie mają, to trzeba edytować plik konfiguracyjny. Wybranie opcji 1 powoduje, że dla konkretnej lokalizacji jest preferowana dana metoda. Oznacza to, że jeżeli jeszcze nie jest określona preferowana lokalizacja, to po zapisie lokalizacji zostaje ona wskazana jako preferowana, natomiast jeżeli już jest określona preferowana lokalizacja, to pojawia się komunikat, w którym podawane jest ID istniejącej preferowanej lokalizacji oraz nowej lokalizacji i zapytanie, czy preferowana lokalizacja ma być podmieniona (Rys. 5). Można wybrać opcje preferowanej lokalizacji dla kilku modułów. Wtedy Event wskazuje na lokalizację ostatnią potwierdzoną, jako preferowaną.

Metody lokalizacji oprócz współrzędnych i czasu zjawiska dostarczają różną ilość informacji takich np. jak błąd lokalizacji, kąty wyjścia, wynurzania i azymuty fal, itp. Istnieją metody lokalizujące zjawiska we współrzędnych geograficznych lub kartezjańskich, jednakże wynik jest zawsze zapisywany we współrzędnych geograficznych.
Dostępne obecnie są następujące metody lokalizacji wstrząsów sejsmicznych:

Some modules may be able to set this option in the graphic window of the module. If they don't have it, you need to edit the configuration file. If you select option 1, that method is preferred for that particular location. This means that if the preferred location is not defined yet, then after saving the location it is indicated as the preferred location, and if the preferred location is already defined, a message appears in which the ID of the existing preferred location and the new location are provided and the question whether the preferred location is to be replaced (Fig. 5). You can select preferred location options for several modules. Then the event object indicates the last confirmed location as the preferred one.

Location methods, in addition to the coordinates and time of the event, provide a different amount of information, such as location error, takeoff angles, wave incidence angle and azimuths, etc. There are methods for locating in geographic or Cartesian coordinates, however, the result is always saved in geographic coordinates.

The location can also be defined manually without using the modules by editing the Origins item in the Elaboration window. After pressing the right mouse button, the Add Origins option appears (1), after pressing it, a new Origin with zero values is added (2). After clicking the right mouse button on the origin, a window with options for modifying the location opens Lokalizację można zdefiniować też ręcznie nie korzystając z modułów edytując pozycję Origins w oknie opracowania (Elaboration). Po najechaniu na Origins i naciśnięciu prawego przycisku myszy pojawia się opcja Add Origins (1), po jej naciśnięciu dodaje się nowy Origin z wartościami zerowymi (2). Po naciśnięciu prawym przyciskiem myszy na pustym opracowaniu otwiera się okienko z opcjami do modyfikacji lokalizacji (3).
