This module implements the older method of acquiring seismic data using the ArcLink protocol - without routing. This means that you can only download data from one server. However, it supports older versions of SeisComP. The ArcLink module is used by several other modules extending the functionality (see the modules: Reading from ArcLink seismic recordings based on the earthquake data and Reading the next time segment from the ArcLink).

Downloading data for a selected time segment is called by the FileArcLinkOpen menu command, after which a dialog box for selecting stations, channels and time segment of seismic recordings to be loaded appears.

On the left side of the window there is a list of seismic networks, stations and channels selected for loading. The list has a tree structure. By clicking on a seismic network, you can select or deselect all stations and channels of that network. Similarly, by clicking on a given station, you can select or deselect all channels of a given network. You can also mark individual items. Each item is marked one of the following icons: , , or  . The icon means that no stations or no channels are selected, the icon means that some stations or channels are selected, and the icon means that all stations and channels are selected.

This list is dynamic and shows only those networks, stations and channels that were registered at a given time, so it may change when changing the time period. Therefore, first you need to select a time segment and then a list of stations, etc. You can predefine the list of default stations for a given region. To use this, define the default stations and check the Auto reload option.

The basic functionality of Arclink is rather suited for occasional work. For the analysis of continuous recordings one by one, use reading the next time segment from the ArcLink.
