Basic information

  • CO TO AFILIACJA - 1 ZDANIE.
  • Affiliation confirms User’s association with polish Affiliation in PLGrid Infrastructure is defined as user’s association with a Polish scientific institution.
  • Affiliation Providing valid affiliation information is required to get gain access to PLGrid Infrastructure resources. Information provided by user is verified before they can get access to resources.
  • Access to resources 's resources. It is regulated by terms and conditions.
  • User can have register more than one affiliation.
  • Affiliations in PLGrid Portal have due expiration dates. Before ends due If a user needs resource access beyond the expiration date, User they must apply for extension/continuation an affiliation extension before it ends.
  • User with verified association with polish scientific institution automatically obtained a Supervisor's role.  Supervisor can cooperate with subordinates (Employees at Polish scientific institutions automatically obtain a Supervisor role after affiliation verification. Supervisor can grant their scientific cooperators (so-called subordinates) access to PLGrid Infrastructure. Subordinates can be students or other people who are not associated with polish employed at a Polish scientific institution).
  • Supervisor is obligated to manage of their subordinate's affiliations.  Supervisor Supervisor should deactivate accounts affiliations of users their subordinates with whom cooperation have has been terminated.
  • User obtains the trial work group/work team after confirmation and activation a trial (test) workgroup after verification and activation of the first affiliation. The trial work group workgroup has following  parametersparameters:
    ID: plgt-[the rest part of login], where [the rest part of login] is a login starting with their plglogin without the "plg" .
Only academic employees and their subordinates (students, PhD students) are authorized to having access to PLGrid resources. To get that authorization User must provide an information about association with polish scientific institution or cooperates with polish scientist. User is obligated to using resources only for researches conducting at the Polish scientific institution.

Types of affiliation

User can apply for one of There are two affiliation types.

  1. Academic Employee who have status as SUPERVISOR unit employee (Pracownik jednostki naukowej)
      - employees of Polish scientific institutions, having a record in the radon database (https://radon.nauka.gov.pl/) and a minimum academic doctoral degree. A registered Academic employee affiliation automatically grants its owner a Supervisor role, which means they can grant their scientific cooperators (so-called subordinates) access to PLGrid Infrastructure.

  2. Subordinate Students, PhD students, foreigner scientist whom have status SUBORDINATE. (Podopieczny pracownika jednostki naukowej)

Apply for

  1. - a person not employed at a Polish scientific institution but collaborating with such an employee within their institution. Subordinates can be: students, PhD students, foreigner scientists. 

Register an affiliation

Choose an affiliation type

To apply for affiliation User needs to go to AFILIACJE menuregister an affiliation go to "Afiliacje" tab. 

"Afiliacje" menu basis on an overview for all Users' affiliations with information about their status and due dates. To show an affiliation details click on lists user's affiliations, their statuses and expiration dates. Affiliation details are available under link "Szczegóły".

In order to register a new affiliation

Click on green button “Dodaj”, the application form will show up. User should define an affiliation type.

2. Choose affiliation type

Pick your affiliation type. It will most likely be the second one - "Podopieczny pracownika jednostki naukowej" - subordinate - which means you are not a Polish scientific institution employee ("Pracownik jednostki naukowej"), but you collaborate with one within their institution.

Depending on your pick one of two forms below will appear.

3. Fill the form

Fill the form using the following templatehints.

Scientific institution, its department and subdepartment. If you are a subordinate provide your supervisor's Polish institution. In order to pick the institution, start typing its full name and pick it from the appearing list. Next click "Dodaj podjednostkę" and pick the department accordingly. In the same way pick the subdepartment. You are required to pick all 3 levels:  institution, department and subdepartment (if all exist). The levels are:

    Affiliations expire after a certain amount of time, depending on its type:

    • Academic Employee - 5 years
    • Subordinate -
    for Academic Employee -
    • 6 months
    - for Subordinate. User

    You can provide

    shorter due date

    an earlier date if your know your affiliation expires earlier. 

    When the

    due

    expiration date is close

    to expiry User should extend an affiliation

    and you wish to keep using the Infrastructure, you can apply for affiliation extension.

    If there is no record with scientific institution where User is associated, of your scientific institution in our database (nothing shows on the list) there is a possibility to add new record which must a new institution / department / subdepartment, which will be verified by PLGrid operation stuff. Application with only one unit will be rejected.

    4. Submit affiliation form

    Submit the filled form using the button 

    4. Send an affiliation

    Sebd filled form using option: "Wyślij afiliację do weryfikacji".

    Affiliation requires confirmation by Operation stuff. It could take 3 working days.

     

    Before an affiliation becomes active it requires verification by either Operations staff, the supervisor you provided or both. On Operations staff side it may take up to 3 working days. If verification of your affiliation is taking longer than that, please contact your supervisor.
